THE DESIGN REQUIREMENT
Let a material supplier present its own range through the cards themselves.
Coverboard supplies specialist bookbinding materials. Its business cards therefore needed to do more than carry names: they had to make colour and board construction physically present in every introduction.
A coordinated system
The production covered 17 names and 8,450 cards. Different staff members received different board colours, while the typography and layout held the identity together.
THE MATERIAL DECISION
Eleven coloured ESKA boards became the palette.
The recorded production used 11 ESKA colours at 1.75–2 mm. Because the board is coloured through its thickness, each version keeps its colour across the face and the cut edge.
Historic specification, stated precisely
This project records the materials used for that run. It is not a claim that every historic colour and caliper remains in the manufacturer’s current public range; availability is checked for each new order.
PRODUCTION EXECUTION
Foil was selected against each board and applied on both sides.
Every board-and-foil pairing had to retain contrast and character. The name versions, board allocation, foil choice and final cutting were coordinated as one production system rather than treated as unrelated small jobs.
