WHY WHITE SUMO
Ink contrast and impression depth can work together.
The uncoated white surface keeps a single ink colour readable while the 1.5 mm board gives the impression more physical depth than an ordinary business-card sheet.
Black Sumo is not presented as a standard ink-letterpress choice because ordinary ink does not provide reliable contrast on the dark board. Black-board designs normally move to hot foil, blind impression or a reviewed specialist process.
What letterpress changes
- The plate transfers one solid ink colour.
- Pressure compresses the paper surface.
- Fine reversed detail needs enough clearance.
- Natural surface character remains visible.
EDGE & CORNERS
Keep the white edge—or introduce one controlled change.
The standard card has square corners and an unpainted white edge. Rounded corners and painted edges use the separate quantity fees shown in the form. These are mutually exclusive production choices.
Future 1 mm option
The product architecture can support 1 mm Sumo White, but it will not be exposed as an orderable choice until its price matrix and impression result are approved.
ARTWORK PREPARATION
Build one solid vector separation for each printed side.
Supply artwork at final size with fonts converted to outlines. Very small type, thin lines and reversed details need review before plates are made. Production begins only after the final proof and plate separations are approved.
More than one colour?
Additional ink colours require separate plates, registration and pricing. Use Expert Recommendation before ordering a multi-colour letterpress design.
